With a 3 year old book in the house, I definitely know a lot about building blocks! They come second only to trains in his mind! And he often makes a garage for his trains with them!
But as I look at life I see that we have many building blocks and it struck me that we are impatient people! We don't want to wait to build the foundation before we add the details!
I am seeing that in my life in so many ways! So I am falling back! Retreating....refreshing...renewing...re-evaluating. What exactly are the building blocks in my life! What is my foundation?
For me the obvious one is God. He is the foundation of all. And if I were to look at this like a tree instead, He would be my roots! With Jesus being the trunk! But what are the branches? I have so many different aspects of my life and I need to truly define what my basic building blocks are! I don't think I can move on without that!
So let's start with some basic subjects! What makes up my life? Who am I? (And I am instantly overwhelmed!)
I am a child of God.
I am a wife. (Twice)
I am a widow. (more later on that!)
I am a Mommy to a 14 year old girl. (Need I say more!)
I am a Mommy to a 12 year old girl.
I am a Mommy to a 7 year old girl.
I am a Mommy to a 3 year old boy.
I am a daughter.
I am a sister.
I am a friend.
I am a volunteer.
I am a youth leader.
I am a housekeeper.
I am a driver for the Amish.
I am a blogger.
I am an aspiring business owner.
I am a mentor.
I am a wanna be mentee! (In search of a mentor)
I am an artist.
I am a scholar.
I am a person who hates saying no.
I am a gardener.
I am a reader.
I am a chef.
I am a baker.
I am a giver.
I think that is probably enough to start my list! How about you? Have you ever taken the time to define who you are? Care to share some of that here?
I plan on addressing some of these areas in future blogs so stay tuned!
Wow. Food for thought. Thanks.
ReplyDeleteSo where is your list Edith? Who are you? Because I decided after lots of prayer that I can't move on to where I want to GO unless I figure out where I am!
